Our story

Atelier.Lignum
I should write a book to tell you how the workshop was born and what moments I went through. But so that I don't have to write it and you have to read it, I'll share with you a short summary, starting with a revelation.

First of all, let me introduce myself: my name is Daniel Jolta, born in Oradea, husband of a beautiful woman and father of two wonderful children, blessed by God more than I deserve.

A construction engineer by profession, I worked in the field of civil construction, as well as automotive. I did not feel any inner satisfaction from what I was doing. But one day in 2014, entering a carpentry workshop that processed solid wood, I received the discovery that this was my calling: to be a carpenter.
Then I created the logo with the aim of remaining an anchor for my dream.

I resigned, got a job in a factory that manufactured solid wood furniture. I was the commercial and logistics director in that company, then production manager in the furniture processing and assembly sector.
I was offered leadership positions within the company, but in my heart I knew I had to start my own business. I didn't want to be asking myself the question, "What if?" in 10 years.

I participated in a business plan competition, where I won a small grant that helped me get started.
I resigned, even though I was the only one earning an income in the house, my wife and I deciding that it was better for her to stay home to raise the children to a certain point.
But confident that God had certified my choice, I took the big step.

Atelier Lignum was born in the summer of 2019, and the logo metamorphosed into the first Lignum branded items.

Enthusiastic and determined, I patiently built the workshop and participated in various fairs where Lignum received public approval. The values I wanted to start with were confirmed by the clients.

But then came the pandemic year 2020, all my plans hitting a wall at full speed. For a period of 6 months I had no work. I timidly started to get out of the jam, but in July 2020 I suffered an accident in the workshop, severing part of my left wrist.

With the help of God, my family, and especially my wife (she worked side by side with me, since I had an immobilized left hand), we continued to complete the projects we had started.

In September 2020, we made our first hire, and since then we have formed not just a team, but a small family passionate about working with wood, about beauty.

Currently, we have grown from 6 sq m to 600 sq m, having projects and collaborations that we are proud of, and for what lies ahead, we have the same enthusiasm and perseverance.

That's why you should know that the furniture pieces we will create for you will have soul, manufactured for generations.
